Nelly Mainy

Nelly Mainy is the behavioral science manager at Japan Tobacco International. Prior to joining JTI in 2022, she worked in the tobacco industry for more than a decade, totaling 15 years of experience in the context of a dynamic regulatory framework and evolving tobacco product landscape. Mainy developed a strategic perspective of Tobacco Product Perception and Intention studies and Actual Use Studies building upon established Consumer Reported Outcomes Measures and Real World Evidence methodologies as well as leveraging from collaborations with behavioral experts.

Both French and Swiss by origin, Mainy holds a doctorate in neurosciences from the University of Lyon (France), a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich (Switzerland), and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Management in Life Sciences from the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (Switzerland).

In her role with JTI, Mainy contributes to consumer and behavioral research in support of innovation initiatives on foundational experience understanding and experience unpacking and shapes evidence-generation programs to evaluate and substantiate the reduced-risk potential of JTI’s reduced-risk products in support of regulatory submissions and scientific engagement.
